On behalf of our client TEC Bobov Dol, a coal-fired power plant which generates electricity in Bulgaria, situated in the lands of the village Golemo Selo near the town of Bobov Dol, Kyustendil Province. The plant is located near the Bobov Dol coal mines and has an installed capacity of 630 MW. We are looking for an ambitious and proactive candidate who is ready to gain new experience in the following position: Main Switchboard Operator – “Electrical” Workshop.
Location: Bobov Dol, Bulgaria.
Relocation is required, and the employment contract is permanent.
• Operates the main electrical switchboard and ensures safe, reliable and economical operation of serviced equipment.
• Monitors instruments for operating modes of generators, transformers, connections to the auxiliary transformer system (own needs), cable and overhead outputs, battery banks and DC systems; ensures trouble‑free operation.
• Controls operation of relay protections, technical measurement and automation systems, blinkers and signalling for monitoring electrical scheme elements.
• Adjusts operating modes of main auxiliary generators according to the dispatch schedule.
• Performs switching on/off of generators, auxiliary transformers and switching operations in the electrical networks/schemes of the power plant.
• Performs operations according to pre‑defined decisions that may be improved or adapted; work requires very high accuracy and precision.
• Eliminates emergency situations and performs fitter‑type emergency restoration works.
• Maintains operational documentation; performs rounds according to route cards.
• Responsible for the work of operational personnel during the shift; makes decisions under time pressure with high attention.
• Bears high responsibility for very expensive installations where downtime causes significant losses; responsible for actions affecting safety of other persons with significant probability of serious injury; frequent internal contacts on diverse issues.
• Secondary technical education.
• Electrical engineering; automation and telemechanics.
• At least 5 years of professional practice in a thermal power plant (TPP).
• General knowledge of main technical disciplines.
• Detailed knowledge of: design/operating principles of electrical machines, signalling, relay protections, technological measurement and automation equipment; plant electrical scheme; technical characteristics of main electrical and thermo‑mechanical equipment; technological process for heat energy production; permissible parameter deviations.
